I do think of Leanne often. I am sad that she’s gone, but couldn’t even forget the times she was there for me, even though she was in pain from her cancer, or the compassion she showed me. Also, the many souvenirs I have that remind me of her.

(Once I figure out how to host my images they will go right here)

I appreciated her old soul. She had character. She was unapologetic yet sweet and always kind to me.

I’ll always remember the one time I had an intense argument with my mother and hid away in the garage to work on anything. Woodwork the anger out as it were. She came over to see if I was ok. I kind of wasn’t and she knew it, but her presence was comforting.

I was given the amp as part of a donation by her husband, as he was clearing out the house for its new owners to move in.

Regarding the amp. I gave it a good dusting, lubed the main power switch and sold it to some other sketchy neighbour for fifty canadian pesos. Under market value, but the thing was heavy anyways and I didn’t want it. The guy who wanted it really wanted it, so hey why not.

Go ahead and edit it and re-build the site to see your changes. You can rebuild the site in many different ways, but the most common way is to run
jekyll serve
, which launches a web server and auto-regenerates your site when a file is updated.

To add new posts, simply add a file in the
_posts
directory that follows the convention
YYYY-MM-DD-name-of-post.ext
and includes the necessary front matter. Take a look at the source for this post to get an idea about how it works.

Jekyll also offers powerful support for code snippets:

def print_hi(name)
puts "Hi, #{name}"
end
print_hi('Tom')
#=> prints 'Hi, Tom' to STDOUT.
